Seriously, that sounds awesome! I feel like I've heard of Barbara Brown Taylor before, but I can't put my finger on it. I would definitely read her book. Another one that I am interested in is called, "Unladylike," by Pam Hogeweide. It's about women in the church. Just let me know when you want to start and let's do it!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10730607748865959154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7205273001704841041.post-72409882836009732722012-07-21T23:00:22.680-04:002012-07-21T23:00:22.680-04:00Thank you!! I am so thankful for my parents.

And yes, I love RHE's blog so much! I haven't read "Evolving in Monkey Town" yet, but it is absolutely on my to-read list. I'm just finishing "Leaving Church" by Barbara Brown Taylor, which I think you would really like. Maybe we should each read the other, then discuss! :)Trischahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14271302465062935135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7205273001704841041.post-82683391977208995492012-07-16T10:12:47.675-04:002012-07-16T10:12:47.675-04:00I can't say enough how much I love this post. ...I can't say enough how much I love this post. I feel like our thoughts are so similar, and our families, too. One of my favorite things about my dad is that he is not threatened by, or afraid of strong women. In fact, I would say my dad is a feminist, as well. It's so empowering to have your foundational male relationship communicate your worth, capabilities, and value as a woman by letting you be who you are and even coming alongside and encouraging you to become whatever you want. I'm grateful for that in my dad. I think I'm a bit of a feminist because of the strength of my mom, and the respect for that from my dad.

Oh, and I LOVE Rachel Held Evans' blog and thoughts. She has such a good head on her shoulders. The writers, bloggers, friends, pastors etc, that she features are always inspiring, too. Have you read "Evolving in Monkey Town" ...? I imagine you'd really like it.Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06842223858765333299noreply@blogger.com
